Exciting News: Web Courses and Educational Donations

Please join me for an online course. Thursday 6:30 Pacific time. Register here.

My fellow Threaders,

First, do we like being called Threaders? (Let me know at the end of the post.)

As you know, I have been blogging less than I had originally planned. And indeed, I am blogging less than I want to. There is a simple reason for this. I have been working on several other initiatives that I hope will create long term sustainability for the Karaite movement. Blogging is a great short term investment, but we need something more substantive if we are going to exist in 100 years.

So today, I want to announce two exciting initiatives.

The first initiative is that I am going to host a series of web-courses. You can log-in and participate from the convenience of your home, office or mobile phone. The first course is this Thursday night at 6:30p.m. pacific time.

Course 1: Why Don’t Karaites Use Tefillin & Mezuzot
Thursday, May 4, 2017

FREE!

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to explain in simple and respectful terms the Biblical, Rabbanite and Karaite sources regarding tefillin & mezuzot. Space is limited, so please register.

The second initiative is that I have formed a partnership with the Karaite Jews of America regarding educational initiatives that I support. The Karaite Jews of America has been incredibly generous and supportive of all of my initiatives: The Karaite Press, The Karaite Kitchen, A Blue Thread’s Fact Cards, the Omer App, the Web-Courses I am offering, etc. But the reality is that all of these initiatives cost money.

So, now you can donate money to the Karaite Jews of America through A Blue Thread and the Karaite Jews of America and I will use the money for approved educational purposes. To be clear, I do not make a penny off of any of these initiatives. All the money will be used to help support these and other initiatives.  I am thankful for the support of the Karaite Jews of America and of my fellow Threaders.

Should We Adopt the Term "Threaders" for Our Readers?
